Hrm, after looking at bullet weight and velocities, along with a few other people discussing it it seemed to be a bit weaker then the modern loadings for modern lever guns. Not saying that being semi auto wouldn't be nice by any means.

i dont know if they make a beowulf in lever gun action..maybe puma rifles might..i havent checked..i know that they are owned by legacy sports..they usually make exotic caliber lever actions..like 480 ruger and 454casull ..i know that the the brass spitzers that i have for the 50 beo is loaded at 350gr and holding velocities at 2100fps and about 3000lbs of energy at the muzzle through a 16" barrel.. in my gun you will loose about 100fps ..if you use a hollow point.. on impact the bullet expands over an inch..That could of been one of the reasons they dropped that bear in one shot without any further movement..

Not quite. We are allowed SBRs and SBS as long as they are C&R or modern SBRs with a Dangerous Weapons Permit, if you are lucky enough to be a 02/FFL07 manufacturer or if you provide guns to the movie studios/television.

How difficult is it to get a Dangerous Weapons Permit?

It is nigh impossible. Pretty much, if you have to ask you ain't getting one.
