Sweet set up. How do you think it would feel as a pistol? I haven't had any experience shooting 50 Beowulf.

as a pistol...i know you would deffinately feel it on your wrist..the beowulf is a massive round..I highly recommend it for dangerous game or even recreational shooting

Doesnt the 50 B compare to old trapdoor 45/70 gov loadings? Not my idea of a dangerous game round.

no it doesnt compare really to the 45/70 govt load....for close quarter encounters with dangerous game..The 50beo would be ideal..due to its bullet weight energy and velocity...but for longer distances something like a 300winmag or heavy grain 30-06 or 7mm ultra mag would be better for longer distances..here is another video of the 50beo taking a black bear in one shot..
