      safe queen.

Safe queen...you mean a gun so valuable I can't shoot it or display it?

If the weapon means that much to you, (my dad gave this too me)..display it for others to enjoy, lock it up when you need to.

If its a one of a kind C&R, display it for others to enjoy, lock it up when you needed to.

Its its a standard gun you have built and spent so much money on you feel it will detract from the $$ value if you take it out of the safe.....you have lost your way and need to rethink gun ownership.

If you have millions of dollars and built the best of the best. fine waste all the money you want, just like that $250,000 car you will never drive.

But for the normal guy its a waste of time and money to buy something you will never use.

        I politely disagree.

I have a perfect Burning Man attendance record: zero.

You do know there are more guns in the country than there are in the city.

My Schmidt Rubin K31 is a safe queen. I've had her for a year or so and still haven't shot her.

Yep, quite offensive. I'll take it off your hand cheap so you don't have to look at it anymore.

I recently sold a few to make room for more. I acquired a Ruger #1 (my passion) in 218 Bee. I never shot it, and a friend of a friend had to have it. I also parted with my Walther G22 and a Savage bolt action 30-30. I was thinking of letting a few others go, and still may do so.

I have had this .17 thing going on lately, so I added a Rem 597 and another Marlin, in 17 Mach 2 to join my Marlin 917V. I'll be picking up a Ruger Super-Single-Six in 17 HMR as well.

The crux of the problem in getting sufficient time to shoot, and balancing work time and leisure time. I've decided to just simply make more time to shoot. The 17's offer good performance in a low-noise and low ricochet danger package so I can shoot a few miles from my house. Less travel time=more shooting time=more shooting.

If a friend likes one of my guns that I don't shoot much, and will pay a decent price, I've decided to let such guns go. In the end, while some guns provide me with aesthetic enjoyment, such as Ruger #1's, others are strictly shooters. If I don't shoot them much, it's time to move on.
