If I end up making a piston upper I will use the U-15. I hated...HATED my AR-15 pistol because of the tube..it got in the way, I hit my wrist, head, elbow, knee...grrrr

dang how did olympic arms make the bufferless folding stock upper cause that would be cool with the u-15

i have 2 builds with MMG's and love them. they allow me to use my 30 rounders and the look has actually grown on me. both of them are 18" barreled rifles for 2 very different purposes. the 9mm build has a prince50 maglock...

                Good idea? no?
                1) FELONY.

                2) There is no way u can make it magnetic enough to hold the whole rifle's weight.

Explain. On a Fixed mag setup, what is wrong with a magnetic pistol grip?

Why would you bother with your project on a fixed mag setup?
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

it isn't but if you epoxy a magnet onto the bottom of the receiver (where the grip would go) then you could epoxy another magnet onto the top of the grip there's always more than one way to skin a cat...

Too bad they just didn't sell only the grip from the U-15. That or cut down a MMG. Then again it would not be a known standard which might cause problems.

Is there a legal issue with it being not "permanently affixed", or more specifically, not permanently attached with hardware?

not if you have a fixed mag. once that 10 round mag is fixed you can have all the evil features. why you would want to have a removable pistol grip isn't too clear to me. removing the pistol grip would actually make the rifle one step closer to having a featureless build.
