    MMG looks sorta good???

Ok, I have accepted the fact I have to comply with CA laws, or leave some of my toys here...(I have to leave several anyway... )

But The more pic of ARs with MMGs the more I think they are hot looking...hell I will go ahead and say several are down right sexy

Is there a way to customize the MMG to fit the stock 100%...NO GAPS! or is there a certain stock that fits like a glove?

The BB is all fine, but never liked the 10rd thing...I owned a pre-ban M17 and hated even loading the 10rd mags ....let alone just as you are getting into the Xring triple scoring...got to change the mag...ugh

Am I just coping with a bad situation, or are there other weirdo's like me out there.

I will go as far as to say, when I return to Wa, I will probably still have a MMG on an AR.....

The grip was made to fit the standard A2 stock. You can use the shorter stocks, but you have to do a small amount of trimming. Just go slow and keep checking your progress and it will fit nicely. Many people have done it.

Here are some nice pics of the grip on my rifles. Don't think I am going to pass up an opportunity to show off after a post like yours.

          not kidding

Just to say this...I am not kidding. on a 20" AT&T upper, I think the MMG would be better then a pistol grip.

Indeed, its aesthetics match or surpass its utilitarian purpose. Any chance of some 'comfort' mmgs sort of like rubber Hogues?

Im going to make a magnetic pistol grip. Its magnetic enough to have a secure feel on the rifle but if need be it can be removed quickly with enough force. This could be used for quickly exhanging grips on a fixed-mag build, instead of going through all the trouble of unscrewing the grip. Of course you couldn't shoot steel casings with it, hehe

                  Good idea? no?

I chose the U-15 option. . . I am discovering that functionally, it gives up absolutely nothing to a pistol grip. When going prone, it may actually be superior.

But, a lot of folks think it's ugly. I've never been one to care as long as it works. I see many more MMG's out there though than U-15's. I think they're much more popular.

I'd say no, bad idea. Magnetic fields, duct tape, screws, glue, welding, etc. It's all attaching a grip which would make it an AW. Ok, so it makes breaking the law easier and "safer", but there is no such thing as safe if you got a rifle on the rack and you're shooting the other and some JBT comes up while your shooting. Besides, it makes constructive intent pretty easy to argue.

Not saying it can't be done legally, I just would stay away from it.

As for the OP, I too think the MMG has it's place. As you say, an A2 clone with glass on it and some 20 rounders is a mighty sexy thing. I'm helping my brother build up a MMG build (his first AR) that has a Bushmaster 20" on it and I am trying to get him to put a Harris bipod and a Leatherwood Camputer scope on it. I think he'll really like it and I'll probably be jealous out of my mind.

If I had to cut down and have ONLY one Cali-AR it would be a 17" stainless A2 with MMG.

The MMG forces you to have a good stock weld (aka -- proper).

                        There's nothing like dropping mags.

Get one of the FDE ones, paint up your stock and use some nice matching rail covers... Sexy.

so far i have only shot my friend rifle with a mmg. i think my dislike for the mmg stems from my wrist problems. the angle is so uncomfy. i bought one, cause i wanted to give it a fair chance and when it arrived i noticed that didnt work with my stock. so i have kept my rifle a p50 locked one. someday ill get a different stock and be able to give the grip a better trial.

but, something ive noticed when shooting my regular griped rifle is that if i just leave my thumb on the side as if it was a mmg with a different angle of grip, it feels so much better.

so, monsterman, a question. is the angle of your grips due to legality , astetics, or personal comfort? because it seems to me that it having a grip angle more like a regular pg would be easier on us with wrist problems.

I also had the U-15, it was a little heavier than a monster man.

Dirty little secret...Home depot sells a rubberized spray paint. it improves the grip of the mmg and if you coat your a2 stock with it, it also seals the slight gap between the two. Be sure to sand what your gonna spray with a fine grit sand paper. i taped off the checkering so it stayed plastic. It kinda made my a2 look darker, it had that dull gray look before.
