The person could have been a parolee at one time or have a history of firearm related crimes. If he was still on parole his parole agent whould have been there.

I think they always ask upon entering a house so that they are not caught off guard.

They were undercover because they came in a blue Jetta, blue Ford Explorer, White Chevy van, Green Saturn Vue, and another small SUV I cant recall right now. they were all wearing jeans with a regular shirt a vest over the shirt and a police jacket with their badges on a chain around their neck they all had a holster on thier thigh. But the one giving out the orders was a 5 foot 6 and about 250 dark skin guy.

At J&J since we are in Santa Ana we have had a bunch of Santa Ana PD come in. They all are very cool and seem to understand the OLL laws very well. Most of the time before we even talk to or explain them.

They seem to only care about those people who don't play by the rules and don't build to the letter of the law.

Santa Ana is not an easy city to be a cop in and mistakes happen everywhere. Glad you kept your cool and all turned out well.

                    Another Iggy Sighting!

Sounds like Parole/Probation to me. They usually have the same MO as you just described.

ok those were headhunters. They are trying to track people down who have outstanding warrants, etc. My buddy is lapd and he was assigned to something similar.

A couple of years ago, one of my young daughters was apparently playing with the telephone and dialled 911. I was sitting in the back bedroom at time and happened to look out the window. To my surprise, there were 2 police officers wandering in my backyard, attempting to look through my windows.
I quickly confronted them and ask what they were doing, that's when I learned that a 911 call was placed from my house. The officers then asked if they could come in and "look around", I said no and I would try to find out who had placed the call. They then asked if I still owned the "assault weapons" that they had knowledge of. I own several registered weapons and I believe that's how they knew about them. I responded by confirming that I still own them and that they are secured in my gunsafe. They briefly spoke with my daughter to determine that she was fine and the call was made by her. I did not feel comfortable allowing them to enter my home without a warrant and I suppose they could have if they suspected foul play and to investigate the 911 call.
