So just curious, and maybe a hijack of your thread, but when you rebuild your mags, their aren't requirements to keep any parts of the original mag, correct? In other words, swap out all of the parts on your original mag, and as long as the total number of mags hasn't increased, you're legal, right?

If it makes you feel more comfortable, keep the old parts. But no, there are no requirements to do so.

Why do you say that? There are several guns that use transparent or semi-transparent magazines. IMO it is a great idea, check out how much ammo you have left in your magazine.

For example, the Steyr AUG and PS90 use transparent magazines. The Ruger 10/22 also has transparent magazines. The backs of C-Mags that you find made for rifles such as an AR15 or MP5 are also transparent. As a former airsofter, I really don't understand that remark.

The the smoke and clear Pmags are actually called Tmags.

I'm sad to say they are not going to come out any time soon. They feed lips of the Tmag's clear polymer material cannot stand up to the extreme environments that the Pmag can withstand. They do not meet Magpul's quality standards so Magpul is not going to produce them yet. They are trying to figure out a way to strengthen the lips.

The L5 transparent mags look really cool. I'll check them out at SHOT and report back.

Clear \ smoked mags are nothing new.

I have a 30 round Ram-Line that I bought about 18 years ago that does the same thing. However, I was told at the time when I purchased it that the Ram-Line's were not the most reliable \ quality manuf. I have not used it much so I can't 'comment on the comment'.
