    M1 carbine/w 15rnd mag

Following the CHART regarding AW,it surely indicates that having an M1 Carbine with a 15 rnd mag is NOT an AW and is legal. In this case,is it also legal to have a 30 rnd mag and shoot it at the range? Need your input on this , as it is a C&R rifle built before 1950. (I signed the SB 249 petition..),its ludicrous...

They don't know, can't prove it, and the answer doesn't matter. Possession and usage are not illegal. The fact that the OP has them means nothing and it cannot be proven either way how he got them. High cap mag charges have only been successful when attached to far worse crimes.

That's good to know. I just moved here from another state that did allow them. Wasn't sure what I was going to do. That clears it up for me.

Not sure what it clears up since you can't import them from another state.

You do realize that playing stupid games in wording of forum posts to imply someone should break the law isn't a smart thing to do here, right?

I'm not playing any stupid games. I'm not implying to anyone that they should break the law. I asked how they can prove that the mags you own weren't purchased prior to the year 2000. Josh3239 answered my question with his post. So what's your problem?

And FYI, I left all my hi-cap mags in my home state of record. No mags were imported here illegally from another state.

the M1 carbine is fine as long as you add nothing like a flash hider (as was said earlier) and i would not use more than the ten round mag.

i see M1 carbines for sale in gun stores and at places like Big 5 Sporting goods all the time. unfortunately, they command a princely price...especially if they're a nice military model.

i, personally, would like to get one...i have a soft spot in my heart for them; i'm one of the soldiers who trained with and used an M1 carbine, and M1 Garand...but...the Ruger PC9 carbine is as close as i will get for now.

There's nothing wrong with using 10+ round magazines in a standard M1 carbine. Have no fear...I don't think I even own a 10rd mag for my carbine.

What happens if the subject pre-'00 carbine is sold, do the mags grandfather with it?
