AR-15 Muzzle Brake Question

Alright, building a new upper, and the only piece I'm missing now is a muzzle brake. Making it lightweight, so looking to control some of that muzzle flip.

What is going to be the best muzzle device to control muzzle flip? I've heard good things about the Rolling Thunder and the SJC Titan, but are there any others out there?

I think the battlecomp is well worth the money. Even cheaper from brownells with c&r discount.

Now throwing this out there in case it changes anything...

I've heard that the SJC and the Rolling Thunder are decimating to anyone standing next to you for the most part. I do a lot of training out in the desert CQB style, and this will be the new carbine course gun to replace my med con upper. Are there any compensators that will be lighter than a massive brake, not ruin the hearing of anyone next to me, and still reduce muzzle flip and felt recoil?

I've heard the Smith Enterprise is probably one of the best for reducing muzzle rise and making for fast shooting.

Anyone heard anything about the Miculek brake from DPMS? I heard good things from the guys at Riflegear, especially considering its ridiculously low price of only 37ish bucks.

All the 3gun comps are extremely effective and loud with a lot of side blast including the Miculek, SJC Titan and Rolling Thunder. If youre going to be doing any type of team tactics, id recommend the BattleComp. I also run the MSTN QC, which sits between the BC and Titan as far as noise and effectiveness.

ive got my smith clocked to about 2.00 oclock.... muzzle jump straight up....about a inch maybe....hunting rifle mostly so dont really notice extra noise....birdcage before so didnt really notice difference....i dont really shoot with others close by though....have fun....

Changes a lot.

The best comps for muzzle flip are probably the worst for noise and side blast. I know other shooters were flinching from my comp blast at a training class I took. I have a JP Comp that came on my JP-15.

Sounds like Superset has the best suggestions so far.
