What about an AK that shoots 5.56? What is the best one? I think it would be cool to shoot the same ammo my AR shoots out of an AK. I like the 7.62 better but all of the ranges I go to will only allow non-magnetic so that about does it for me. The Yugo corrosive looks fine but what about when that supply dries up? Guess I could buy a 7.62 AK and learn how to reload, that's always an option.

I dig AKs, they are just different than ARs, in a good way. They are a heck of a lot tougher. I love my AR but I treat it gently, it would be nice to have a rifle built to take abuse.

No worries , 7.62X39 will be around for a long tome and 19c per round ,no need for reloading,and if you will treat AK gently,she will leave you for another guy

When it comes to "cheap ammo", yea, it isn't normally as consistant as more expensive ammo.

When I was talking about about rifles, I probably should have used "inexpensive" instead of "cheap".

Saiga has 223 cal version.

I need to make more money. Going to toss and turn over getting an AR... Already sold my Marlin 1894 stainless...Maybe I could trade my old model Ruger Vaquero .357 stainless with Triple K cartridge belt/holster rig for a good foot in the AK door or a new Arsenal or Saiga + accessories...

Buy an AK and make it featureless for the cost of a grip sleeve. Then instead of just looking evil it will actually BE evil with detachable mags and no gimpy maglock.

I meant AK not AR... Had to use a M16B in basic and sure it was accurate I guess but I still wake up in cold sweats remembering how often they jammed up and what a pos it was to clean.
