I know the feeling, I finished my ar-15 and was going to get a nice handgun but instead now I'm going to DROS an AK-74 because I got the AK fever and damn is that 5.45 cheap!

I got that fever too! I was saving up to buy a KAC SR-15 E3 upper, but when I saw a San Diego build party, I gave in. Built the AKM, now I want a 74. It seems like the AR project is going to take a back seat for a while.

While there has always been a certain mystique to the AK series, I have to really credit my purchase to the anti-gun folks who have demonized it to the point of insane coolness! The AK-74 will likely not be anywhere nearly as nice as my M4 but it is like 10,000% more evil!

I was so impressed with my friend's Saiga 7.62x39 that he got a couple years ago for $330 I wanted to sell my Mini I paid $850 for... (ripped off I know).

I'm glad I still have my Mini but man you can't beat a rifle like an AK for sub $400. I just saw the build party thing.. Building my own would be facinating and make the rifle that much more sentimental.

Guess I should start researching Saiga conversion or wasr.. build my own... think of good excuses to wife
