    Anyone have a Seekins Precision

I'm looking to start a new build and I'm interested in this Billet Lower... Seekins Precision...

Anyone have one that can give a recommendation? I haven't seen it anywhere in Southern Cal, I thought I saw one once at the Bay Area Gun Vault... haven't spied it at any shooting range either...

    Thanks guys!

a tad over priced IMO. When they first announced it, I signed up on their list to pick one up with custom anodizing assuming they would be in the upper 100's lower 200's, untill they announced the price.

$300 + 10.50 for shipping. I've still got the original email..
Of course you could get them lower now $235 from rainier arms. about $40 more than the mega lower and $105 more than the TKS on sale.

I still like the looks and if i see one for a good price, I wouldn't hesitate picking it up.

Might want to ask the OP from this thread. He recently did a build using the Seekins lower.

I have a few Seekins lowers. The one in your pics is the first generation model. The latest ones have a ambi-bolt release that comes pre-assymbled.
I like billet lowers (and uppers for that matter). Just because I like to be different. But as stated above...they are more then your basic forged lowers. I plan on buying more of them just to have on hand.

I would recommend them. They are top shelf all the way.

Here is one I used to put to use with a JP 14 1/2" side charging upper:

Bring hay for my horse....wine for my men....and mud for my turtle!

What do you hear ???...... Nothing but the rain. Well grab your gun and bring in the cat.

Call Seekins directly. Raineer is out of stock. And if you follow the link in darmog's post above you can see more pics of my carbine with close ups of the lower.

              Take care,Stan

I just ordered through Rainier and finished my 10 day wait for one this week. Rainier will have it back in stock probably in about a week. Just put your email in the auto notifier on their site. It is a great looking and feeling lower. I got it basically for the ambi bolt release and of coarse the looks

I tell you what....the ambi-bolt release is pretty neat. I thought it would be more of a novelty then something I would actually find useful. It feels so natural to just use your trigger finger to release the bolt. In a free state I would think it would aid in a speed reload.

Yeah I have the Magpul Bad levers on my other rifles and this ambi-bolt release is what the BAD lever is trying to be. I am a lefty and even for me it is still very usable, when inserting the mag into the lower I just use my thumb to press on the release to drop the bolt.

Glenn (Seekins) is about to release a .308 (large frame) upper/lower set. I was all excited and was about to put my name on the list for one or two until I found out it will have a ambi MAG release....sigh....no way to use it with a bullet button. And before all your featureless folks jump on me about that issue...sorry...featureless has zero appeal for me. And yes...I own a large amount of pre-ban, high cap mags.
I plan to still buy one or two as we will be moving from CA. in a few years if everything goes as planned and I will save them for the free state we move to.

You could still get the .308 and not install the mag release on the left side. It does suck though. I nearly cried when I popped out the roll pin for the left side mag release on my LMT .308
