Is there a requirement that a rifle built with an OOL be transported in a locked case ?

No. It's the same as any other non-AW rifle or shotgun.

well, in the city/county of los angeles, any gun you transport has to be in a locked case of some sort.

If you come within 1,000 ft of a school, Federal law requires that all firearms be transported in a locked container, unless you meet certain exceptions.

I am pretty sure your trunk counts as a locking device.

A locked car trunk is sufficient.

no in the county of los angeles!!!, here the gun/rifle has to be in a locked box/case and be in your trunk! your trunk doesnt count as a locked box in the county or city of LA

belive me, i have asked alot of leos abou tthis, because my trunk isnt big enough for my bolt action, and they all said the same thing. also the local gun store owners said the same thing.

I would like to see the los angeles law about this. Does anyone have a link or any info about it?

the funny thing is, in burbank, the gun being in the trunk is enough. but once you cross over to la, its not. thats what ive been told by manny different sources atleast.

The real question is, does your local leos know if there are any requirements?
