Me too usually due to the way the barrel is chambered or out-of-spec receivers. Drop-in, check headspace against your bolt and go shooting is okay but having a barrel chambered to your bolt by a good smith is best.

JP, Laure, LMT, GAP, Mega MA-TEN w/custom barrel, there are also smaller shops assembling custom rifles, lots of options out there.

Worrying too much about this brand vs. that brand rifle is a moot point for 99.9% of target shooters.

Spend the budget on a better scope and work up a nice load recipe for your particular rifle.

If you buy ammo rather than reload it, you'll never get the accuracy potential of ANY of these rifles.

            Those are the proven ones.

You will notice that none of these brands sell lowers/uppers separately. I think the only quality 308 brand that does is Noveske.

I doubt you will find an MWS in stock. They are 16-20 weeks at the moment.

JP sells just the upper, and I think they will even build your upper. I built my LR-308 with a JP 22inch barrel. Not a good gun for door kicking, but it is more acuate on the long shots.

In many cases all you may have to do is call the manufacturer or reseller and see if you can order just the upper.

I have a Tactical Machine TM-10 lower. Based on the DPMS lower. Excellent quality, and reasonably priced.
