    precision 7.62 semi autos

Where should I start if I'm interested in one. Read all about the LMT .308 MWS that the brits selected for their sniper program, and the Knights Armament M110 for the U.S. and decided I really want one. (definitely not the M110 due to $)

What about just buying a real nice upper and putting it on a .308 lower (assuming the pattern matches), would that be just as good?

Also, anybody know if the LMT .308 MWS is in stock from a calguns vendor by chance, have some cash burning a hole. Either I get a rifle or buy some platinum and stick it in the bank.

Any love for bullpups? like the kel tec RFB or desert tactical?

Larue OBR .308 would be a good choice.
While not an official endorsement or anything like that -- and just a truly personal opinion -- some of the Army Special Forces sniper instructors I talked to last week had good words for the La Rue Tactical Optimized Battle Rifle (and for La Rue products overall).

GAP 10 by Georgia Precision is a very fine rifle. Go to Snipershide and do a search. May have to wait a bit tho.

If you have the money, a LWRC R.E.P.R is something to consider.

DPMS Sass in the same sentence? hah

            Precision:
LMT w/ CL or SS barrel
            Larue OBR
            Knights M110

            Those are the proven ones.

You will notice that none of these brands sell lowers/uppers separately. I think the only quality 308 brand that does is Noveske.

I doubt you will find an MWS in stock. They are 16-20 weeks at the moment.

Just got a LWRC REPR with the spiraled barrel and love it. Still need to put more rounds through it, but so far so good.

More of a designated marksman rifle not a sniper rifle.

As far as purchasing an upper or building your own yes you can and it will be accurate if you use good parts and assemble it properly. So I guess it depends on how much you want to spend, how long you want to wait, whether or not you need the unique features some of these rifles offer (POF LWRC=piston, LMT=barrel swap) and how confident you are in your mechanical abilities.

check the private firearms section, i have seen one floating around in there, as well as a repr. You can build a very accurate ar-10 or lr-308 platform rifle for less, I built mine for $1400 minus optics, but if I had the money I would not hesitate to buy a mws, repr, gap-10 or similar rifle, most likely the mws due to its modularity. The knights armory has an inflated cost due to their gov contracts, they dont feel the need for the civilian market.

I just got my Ma-Ten running with no flaws. Hoping to get my hands on a rifle rest do a solid zero and then start actually trying to hit stuff instead of messing around. I am still learning about longer range shooting but my buddy is a better shot than me and at 100yds he was shooting holes on top of each other.

Sure, lots of love for them. However, DT only makes bolt action bullpups.
RFBs are currently only available in 18-inch barrel carbine form. They are known to be 2 MOA on average. Kel-Tec hasn't announced when they will release the "target" adjustable trigger pack. Don't hold your breath for the upcoming 24-inch barrel RFB, either. Probably late 2013 before you can order one.

Larue is a safe bet according to most reports.
