I was using the biggest Snap-On ergonomic soft grip slotted head screwdriver I have and even after removing the loctite I was having issues. I could not tighten the screw down all the way. Keep in mind I am a big dude, I was using professional tools and I have been playing guitar and bass for 22 years. I can crush an egg or a human skull in the palm of my hand.

This weekend I tried the Dremel trick to elongate the hole, I used a file inside the grip and I got the MOE grip properly seated, finally! No rocking back and forth

Magpul, if you're listening, please stop making your grips such a PITA to install! Good job on everything else, though!

I had the same problem. I just removed some lock tight and applied more elbow grease. Snug as a bug in a rug by the fire now.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot and report back.

I don't know about the MOE, but my Spike's lower wasn't properly threaded for the buffer tube. I took it to Sierra Arms in Modesto and they re threaded it for me. Everything else went together just fine. I gave it to my son for his birthday last year and there have been no other issues.
