    Thoughts on BCM Upper

Im thinking of purchasing a BCM complete upper assembly...
    This one to be exact:
Mid Length 16" Upper Receiver Group. This AR15 Upper comes with a 16in barrel & your choice of muzzle device and handguard. Designed as life saving tools.

Any thoughts? Im looking for something truly milspec and one that will fit onto a RRA Lower without any issues. I found one used for sale ("200 round count") for about $300. Worth it?

    Thoughts?

    thanks in advance

Good upper but as a small point its not truly milspec as you put it because there is no milspec mid-lengths. Don't know if that matters to you or not

Also the one you linked is not a complete upper since it doesn't have a bolt carrier group or charging handle. Does the used one come with them?

    Could be a good deal

Are most milspec uppers 18"+? Just looking for a quality upper without dishing out the cash for a gas piston system..
The one im looking at does not come with BCG or CH. My apologies.
        Still a good deal?

The Army uses 14.5in Carbines and 20in rifles.
When I said Midlength that was talking about the gas system on the upper you listed.

There is carbine and rifle gas specs for milspec. Currently there is no milspec gas spec for midlength.
Is that a big deal? Only you can answer that. I only brought it up because you asked if it was truly milspec

Give it time & a thousand will chime in.... But, BCM, LMT, DD, ect ..... All great choices & can't go wrong with any!

To my knowledge, No 18" mil uppers... If you're looking Milspec look at 14.5" pinned. If your question is high quality, then again there are choices. No need to look for gas piston unless you're into it. If researching for a new AR please use the search function first, you will find an endless suply of info

My original post was more a a request of opinion.. Which you definitely helped me with.
The search functions are useful yes, but my question was more directed at one person. I guess I'll use google next time lol

I feel you, you wanted an answer about that one upper in particular and if you where getting a good deal, that is fine.
I'm sure you searched about BCM and saw that they have an excellent reputation.

I'm curious who was the question directed at?
And not to harp on you but then why not use a PM to that one person?

                  Mil Spec blah, blah, blah.

What you are looking at is a good upper, and $300 is a good price. Get it, shoot it, love it. BCM is quality.

I have something very close to that upper and it has ran 700 rounds with no problems. From my research you cant go wrong with BCM their only downfall is the price but, if your finding one used that will help.

I believe they have lifetime warranties so I would E-mail BCM and ask them if a used upper still falls under warranty? That would be a big plus if any defect ever showed.

i have the exact same upper thats in your link. so far not one problem. keep in mind that the bcg and ch will run about 160 or so. for a few more bucks you could just buy new direct from bcm. either way its a great upper.

Milspec is a loaded word but i know what you meant. BCM is a good company and you will be happy with it.

I have a BCM 14.5" pinned carbine upper and it has been awesome. It was a little pricey though. No BCG, handguard, or charging handle included.

BCM will charge you a little more for new but they're solid quality. Mil-Spec doesn't really mean a whole lot and you shouldn't necessarily pay more because that spec is attached to your parts nor should you avoid non milspec parts.

Used upper with BCG for $300 is a good deal regardless.
