    Magpul Ranger or "L" Plate

I wondered what peoples opinions were on the Magpul Ranger and L plates? Not having used either it is hard for me to tell which I would prefer.

If there are viable (less expensive) alternatives that you know of let me know and yes I know about the parachute cord and duct tape trick.

    Thx in advance.

    original magpuls aren't that expensive

Also, the cord trick I have seen is to put it around the floor plate of the mag, so that you don't need duct tape.

Panzerace....those look ok and would work good except I would think they could get caught up in or make it harder to seat your mags if you are wearing a chest rig or any other device where the mags seat deep down inside a pocket.

Oh I dunno, I have OD 100mph tape and 550 cord on all my AR mags. Cheap and it works just fine, plus they fit in my dual mag pouches that way AND in a pinch I can disassemble them if I need to put the 550 cord or the 100mph tape to other uses.

I mean, come on, who doesn't need 100mph tape? In the field there's all sorts of uses for both.

C-Products Tactipull floorplates: significantly cheaper. I use them on a few of my 30 rounders and they work well; so much easier than digging in the pouch trying to get purchase on the mag to pull it out.

I used the L-plates and a bit of cub scout knowledge in order to fit into a cheap vest I have with horizontal pockets:

I like the Ranger floorplates. They work well enough for me.

I have the Ranger plate on mine, and it's a lot cleaner looking than the regular magpul

I just wish they weren't so expensive. I'd love to put them on all my 30 rounders at least, but at that price it's prohibitively expensive.

That was my concern also. Think I will go the C-products route first. Their mag rebuild kits are 9X cheaper than the Magpul's which is what I was really interested in. I just figured while I am at it to get some nicer floor plates.
