Colt M4 Carbine or DD XV EZ Carbine?

    Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase my first AR and I was looking for a little guidance on choices. I was looking to only spend around $1k and the Colt M4 Carbine on sale at Turners and the DD XV EZ Carbine on sale at Rifle Gear caught my eye. Any input on which might be better? Any other ARs in the $1k range a better deal than these two? Thanks

You're not going to do much better than either of those for a combat carbine.

      I'd go with the DD.

You didn't mention what is the intended use of carbine for you? Plinking, LE or collecting?

          Both are excellent choices.

The DD would be my choice.

Thanks for all your responses thus far. I guess I'll be using it for plinking and collecting. I don't plan to do muchif any modifications to it. What do you guys think of the regular DD XV for less than $1k?

Go with colt. It's the gold standard. Resale value will be higher in the long term also if you ever need to sell.

The only Colt i would get would be the 6940CA with the mono upper.. But i still went with the DDM4V1 because i got a better deal. In the end for plinking just get whatever you like and enjoy it, your life wont be on the line at the range if for some reason the rifle has a malfunction.

They're both great, but if it were me... I'd go with the Colt, if only because I've owned everything else but a Colt!
