Is there something wrong with me!?

So I was talking with my buddy the other day about the AR he's building, when it suddenly occurred to me that I have no interest in owning an ar or ak platform rifle. I find them cool looking, fun to shoot, I just don't want one.

My friend said that clearly something is wrong with my head, so I went to a therapist too see what was the matter. He just yelled at me to put my pants back on and get out of his office.

So my question is, is it natural to not want a featured rifle?

It's funny how the wants/needs change. One week it is a NXS for my .50 to shoot Coalinga and the next its match .45acp ammo for IDPA.

No. I dont like revolvers or shot guns. Many people love them.

Same with 1911's I feel like they are just pretty and nice to have. I don't need one not want one but wouldn't mind one. But a ton of people can't seem to live with out them

Own 2 ARs that I very rarely shoot any more. They are great guns but I like shooting my Remmy 308 and my Ruger 10/22 better for now. I'll go back to My ARs eventually. They are addictive! If you don't want one then so be it. There are ALOT of other nice guns out there.

I used to like ARs, now I don't care for them; I just want a 1200 dollar AK built to my exact (and exacting) specifications. Conversely, I use to not like AKs at all or have any interest in them. Now the very idea of a 5.56 rifle, let alone an AR, turns me off. If things ever go really wrong in the city I live, and there are people shooting at me from more than 100 yards away, I can avoid them. I can just run. If I have to take a shot within that distance, I can use 7.62 and they'll feel it a lot more. And I can afford more of it.

I have no care for an AR either. I agree, they are great guns, great fun to shoot, etc, etc, but it just doesn't interest me. Same thing with a revolver.

An AK, on the other hand, interests me, but only enough to buy one. It's not enough interest for me to keep wanting more, or to build my own.

I agree it all depends on what you think you want/need. I try to project into the future also, will I need a AR/AK someday. If I think I might then I'm saving for it and getting it. The wife may disagree but she may thank me someday too, I'm still waiting
