Yeah-I was figuring a CZ52 to cover my Tokarev, and a Baikal Makarov. I'm debating of just getting an example of each Russian gun, or go crazy with it and get EVERY gun, see Nicks list^^^. Ive only been collecting since the end of July, and I have a great start.

Cz82 and Yugos are close to the Makarov? I'll check that out. Reason I was considering a CZ52 in place of the Tokarev, is because the Toks on GB seem so expensive (4x the price) of a 52. Where would the CZ75 fit in? I seen one at DAS and it looks NICE. It is also brand new, so does that make it LESS collectible than per say an older original?

Tokarevs should only run you around 200 bucks, but thats for Yugos. CZ82s are closer to a Mak, but faintly.

CZ75s are completely different, I wouldnt consider that part of your "collection" in terms of older cold war pistols.

Dont get me wrong, im a big CZ fan, but its a much more modern design.

How hard would it be to build one?
They have some that come with ten-round mags. I think Atlantic would probably sell one to you or you could have an FFL with a SOT order it.

I'll definately ask them if I decide to get one. Also-That is a NICE CZ75. On wiki, they said it is called one of the "wonder 9s", and ranks with the best ever made. It was also issued to Czech police forces. I'm looking for any reason to get one in my collection, but if I do, I will probably go with the traditional non-rail version.
On the Makarovs-Ive seen many Russian Baikals that are reasonably priced. Would a Yugo or Bulgarian be better? ALSO, what caliber is considered original Makarov? Ive seen them in 9 and .380. Ive also seen an East German one, and almost went with it, but I dont know much about handguns.

                  Original Makarov is 9x18 Mak : )

380 and 9mm are either conversions, or guns based off the design.

A Bulgarian or East German Makarov would be closer to a Russian military Makarov, since the Baikal IJ-70 has adjustable rear sights, whereas the military ones are fixed.

CZ-52 is VERY different from a TT-33, they only share the round. Polish or Romanian TTs would be as close as it gets, and the Russian ones are still out there (but much more expensive).

SOG has POlish and Romanian TTs for about $200 right now. CZ-82 is very different from a Mak, as well, they just share the round

A Yugo M57 is a TT with a longer grip (and longer mag).

Designed behind the Iron Curtain, although the Czech military didn't adopt them.

well, they did after the curtain fell. Thats why I said I wouldnt consider them part of that type of collection.
