    Thanks for the info!

Colt will testify the SP before the serial number stands for SPORTER.

      Just saying...
Well then if I received one without a box or just a lower, I would have no problems with it then.

Again, on the 6940s, you would want to keep the box around just to prove it was a 6940. On this one, I guess it is the opposite.

And Colt can say the SP stands for Sporter if they want, it isn't anywhere on the firearm.

All of this reeks of a lawsuit waiting to be won if any LEO agency or DA actually cared.

Its the whole "SP" part that makes me wary. It is on all Colt Roll marks now, no matter what model. If its sold to the civilian and LEO population the serial number will be "SP XXXXXXXX". Thats what I am hearing anyway.

So is an abbreviation of a banned roll mark illegal???? LOL

Is SP on the list? It doesn't matter what it might or might not stand for. The Harrott decision was clear that unless it is listed by specific make and model number, it is too confusing to just delcare them all illegal. So if SP is supposed to mean Sporter, there is no way for me to know that nor do I care since if it isn't listed, it isn't illegal (assuming category 3 is followed).

When I get customers that want one of these, I will point them your way (if they are near your location).

I believe ambiguity is helpful in this example.
                    SP (sporter)

                    or

SP (special purpose) for target or competitive shooting

Sactocrats and DA's will have to really chew on that one.

This might be a good case in the making.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

lol, it'd be great to finally be able to go on M4C.net and not feel like a second-class citizen because I can actually get a Colt now.

The new SP6920 doesn't come with that magpul crap on it though, does it?
