New M4 Carbine Chart... Here we go.

Anyone see this on M4carbine.net? Its a new chart I guess that came out in June. I find it funny how many distributors were leery on giving away the info, because of the ridiculous fanfare the 1st chart came away with. Its good to see how many companies have upgraded their materials/ testing just because the 1st chart. I really want to see Armalite on there once they release the specs to the creator of the chart. They have done lots of changes in their specs over the past 2 years.
I really do like how he did this new one compared to the last two he did. The first one was obsessed with milspec, the second just listed pure specs of materials. This one, the companies submitted their tech info to the creator. And he just has a comparism chart.

I think its a good reference. There arent any value judgements. I just compare everything to Colt specs on the chart, which may or may not be an absolutly worthless endeavor... My LMT has staight pins and no anodizing under the FSB, horror!

Notice how the most expensive on the list, Noveske, uses a few different materials (as compared to Colt) in their builds.

I just spray some Boeshield in the cracks and crevices around the FSB when I clean it to protect that area. Boeshield is a great product.

There's a really good thread on M4carbine about "is there better than milspec" Colt and FN are the only companies to have a legal version of the TDP. So if you're looking for milspec or a comparison to, Colt is it. FN doesn't sell guns directly to the public, though they do sell barrels to other companies like Centurion Arms, Noveske and PSA among others. I don't think they sell any other parts to companies for commercial rifles, though I could be wrong.

Some say the KAC SR 15 is the best carbine out there and it has some non milspec proprietary parts, including the bolt. Did they invent a better mouse trap? Great question.

Interesting how guys like Defoor and Vickers like DD better than others, Rogers likes BCM and Falla likes LMT. Are those better mouse traps? Good question, but I would think even if they are, Colt set the standard.

Colt set A standard that I think a few other companies have made a point of trying to improve upon.

As for those guys liking certain brands, I believe it's simply a case of liking whatever brand they're being paid to like at the time.

FN does make civilian guns: FS2000, PS90, SCAR, SLP, FNAR, TSX, FNP, and Five Seven.

LMT QCB is a better mouse trap. One piece upper with quick change barrel system. It's basically a Masada with the options of an AR lower.
