    Heavy Duty Bipod??

I'm looking for a bipod for my 416 barrett, it is a heavy beast, ammo bros had one for $300 and I found the same one online for $202. I saw an earlier thread that recommended Harris bipods, but which one would be a good one OR should I just get the $202 heavy duty GG&G bipod?

I'm pretty happy with my TangoDown, but I don't have anything nearly as heavy as that.

This is the one they had at ammo bros http://www.gggaz.com/heavy-duty-xds-swivel-bipod.html, it seemed nice and sturdy.

GG&G or Atlas - both very stout. I favor Atlas

I like your sig btw... I was visiting my Mom (in Iowa) over the holiday weekend and of course had to check CGN for updates, I read some of the sigs to her (yours was one she liked too)

does anyone remember that 2 piece bipod that hooked onto both sides of the rail? I tried to find it but I cant. It kind of looked like the tango down.

CAA has a couple like that: http://store.commandarms.com/categories/Bipods/

I'm not sure how well a poly bipod would hold up - but I have one of their grips and it's good quality (this one: http://store.commandarms.com/products/UPG16.html)

I dont remember this one being CAA, I dislike the quality of some of the CAA stuff, but I guess it could have been, its been a while since I've seen them. Maybe Ill build a quality one on the same principle.

First, it's hard to recommend a bipod for you since, you did not post what type of rifle you have. There are several different firearms chambered in .416 Barrett. But, if you have the ability to custom mount a bipod, you should look at Sinclair's, State Arms, ALS, etc. Or, if you like the AR50 bipods by Prince50, you might want to contact him (he is a member here) and see if he is willing to take the time to design an adaptor for whatever gun you happen to have.

I researched bipods for days before deciding on Atlas... and while I probably didnt come across every option, I did read boatloads about most common ones.

For the design you are looking for, I only remember the Tango Down and CAA (there are others, like Fobus and I think UTG but you dont want those)
