      1) The magazine is fixed (first and foremost)

      2) The UMP Folding Stock has to be pinned (permanently with a pin and spot weld) in the extended position. I would recommend this even with the new USC Tool Enabled Magazine Release Button.

2A) You can avoid permanently pinning the stock in the extended position, but adding a fake can (spot welded to the barrel) and keep the stock as a fully funcitonal folding stock but making sure that the overall length including installing the fake can and with the stock in the folded position is 30" or more, and you have to have the mag in a fixed configuration.

      3) Everything Radd pointed out, 922r US Mfg. Parts etc.

IMHO, it is a waste of money if you are going after the UMP look, you are going to end up spending allot of money for just looks. I would not waste the time, money and effort to add the UMP stock to the USC, just leave it alone, and add some scope / accessory rails and Radd' Tool Enabled Magazine Release, and have fun with the USC.
      SOLID ADVICE.......

      W/ a BB......and a few mags....you'll have a fine pistol caliber carbine....

Now if you want to collect the parts just in case you move out of CALI at a later date.......that might be an idea....

Ah great, just what we need a "PINK" USC.... lol

You might want to collect the parts now, and just wait for later when you are ready, that way you don't have to weld stuff to the barrel, or pin/weld the stock etc.

Also, with the way costs are going, in 5 years you may end up paying 20-50% more for the same parts (original HK and Excellent quality US MFG Parts) or it may be hard to get...

I'm confused on the 3 US parts comment - I thought we needed to add 6 or 7 US made parts to satisfy 922r ? I know when making FAL's you needed to do that... can anyone clarify?
              Seriously missing the 80's.....

No. You may not have more than 10 foreign parts on your firearm from the list of specific parts. All other parts must be US manufacture for compliance.

Resurrecting this thread to throw out an idea. I know Top Notch's stock (and maybe their lower w/ pistol grip?) is US made and HDPS makes a US barrel. Various manu. make US sears & triggers. Seems to me one can install three of the above parts on a USC (to comply w/ 922r & not mess with magazine followers & baseplates), epoxy spacers onto the 10-round USC mag to fit in the UMP lower, fix the folding stock in the extended position and use a RADDlock. Sounds like it would be a cool project- anybody have a grey USC they want to get rid of cheap??? I know, cheap & HK don't exist in the same dimension we do....

im gonna do it. but im using all HDPS parts. he will soon have a stock block with folding stock witch will help my parts count. he also just finninshed a trigger. im gonna have him add a flash hidder or something to make up the extra 3 inches, so i can keep my folding stock. im also gonna modift one of my UMP mags to only accept 10 rounds. my radd lock is alreay installed.

by doing it this way when i move or if the zombiez come after me i can replace my regular mag release and use my many UMP mags
