DPMS parts kit trigger - heavy and gritty.
Front sight on bull barrel - slighly canted.

Following a trigger replacement and front sight alignment I have no complaints.

Im with others. I have the LPK and its gritty and you can feel the trigger. I dont know how to explain it but I dont like it. I need to do some polishing or something. Also the roll pins are a pain. I just crimped them so they would actually fit the receiver.

Have two of their uppers. One with over 3000 rounds through it, and the other with about 150. Neither had any issues whatsoever. Accurate, no failures. I've cleaned the older one I'd say a max of 4 times, so approx once every 750 rounds.

Roll pins, yeah... Wish I would have read about tapering them, figured all brands were like that. Got them in as is but they were pretty tricky. Trigger feels fine, not that I have vast experience with them.

Ok, kinda off question, why do so many dpms uppers have no forward assist?

Some dont. Some do. I don't think i've ever had to use the fwd assist, maybe it has to do with the m4 feed ramps?

I have a DPMS mk12 barrel on my SPR build and i have sub MOA grouping at 100 yards using just 55gr ammo.

I have an lr308 upper, works fine and is very accurate

When i first assembled my dpms lr308 upper onto a oll with Geissele adjustable trigger, i had trouble with short stroking (the bolt would not go all the way back so the next round woulf jam under the bolt. I looked the uppee over and the only possible issue i could see was that the machining of tthe outside of the bolt and inside of the receiver was quite rough. I polished everythingn with 2000 grit sand paper (get it at car paint stores). The whole process took about 20 minutes, now the rifle is the smoothest ar style rifle I have, has never failed to feed or fire on any ammo I have tried (at least a dozen different types) and will shoot sub moa with good ammo.

I had two DPMS 5.56 barrel. They both ran over 1000 rounds of Wolf steel case ammo, and never had a problem. I now run a DPMS LR-308 20" barrel on my AR308, and the thing is accurate.

Nahh... it's not the M4 feedramps.

It has to do with the fact that, except for "silent chambering" situations (hunting or sniper shooting), if you actually NEED for forward assist, you have a problem with the gun or the ammo.

There's a bunch of videos on Youtube showing kabooms after the shooter forced the round into the chamber with the FA.

But yes... it has it's uses. If you are trying to be quiet, you can "ride" the charging handle back down and then use the FA to finish closing the bolt.

I remember hearing that dpms sources the barrels from a high end outfit. The company excapes me. Does anybody know out there?

My first AR15 is composed of mainly DPMS parts I have had no parts related issues
I have the DPMS 3G1 upper which I have been really happy with

Solid, good fit and finish, just thought the parts kit trigger felt gritty and heavy. Receivers are Tefloned like CMMG, barrels are accurate.

The barrels are all made in-house by DPMS
