Never had a problem with anything from DPMS.you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training. -
Depends.
I don't care for DPMS complete rifles(I don't like their apperance, they function well) I've had good luck with their bolt's & SASS barrel.
You will get mixed reviews from everyone here.Comment

you are aware that DPMS Panther rifles are On-list and are not available in CA?Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

'running a DPMS lower parts kit on my lower and it works very well. My DPMS upper has yet to fail on me. Now, my DPMS commercial buffer tube was machined wrong and caused jams and bolt issues; I switched it out and everything ran great. Quality control is iffy with DPMS but when you get a product that's to par it works very well. The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

Panther is a banned receiver in California.
The good news is, DPMS has recently released a lower without the "Panther" rollmark/model.
The complete carbine sells in the $700 ballpark.- Rich

I have a group of friends that all of us got into the AR build thiing over the past 4 years....
About 30 full upper receivers of DPMS have been used...not an issue with any of them, and we've used about 35+ DPMS LPKs, sometimes the roll pins needed a bit of tapering with a Dremel to get them started, and everything has been functioning fine.
So I say that DPMS are good to go.NRA Life Member

I'm a new user here, so I'm sure you'll have to take my word with a grain of salt.
I have a DPMS A2 Panther mid-length upper with a 16.5" barrel, and here are my thoughts on it:
- it shoots nicely with accuracy. Nice tight groups.
- no reliability issues.
- however, the front sight was not mounted on the barrel correctly at the factory, and had to be adjusted at Duncan's gunworks in Vista. It was cocked off to the left by about 3 degrees, which made it impossible to sight in correctly until it was fixed.
I didn't notice that for a couple of years, since I use optics.Comment

I finally crimped the end of a roll pin with a pair of vise grips to get it in. Left a couple of scuffs on the lower receiver but that's all. All other parts dropped in just fine.Comment

I'm glad the rifles are better than the art II scopes that they made awhile ago.Do not fear the enemy, for your enemy can only take your life. It is far better that you fear the media, for they will steal your Honour

Yeah, this really makes me laugh!
CA: "This gun is banned! You can't buy it!"
DPMS: "OK, we'll just not put the deadly 'Panther' word on it"
CA: "Well, that's better, it's much safer now."==================
