Just wondering which of the piston uppers you would choose and why? Criteria would be best design and most reliable.

Scar or XCR

I use a Sig 556 swat patrol. My reasoning is it's based off the AK so I could fold the stock since there is no buffer spring. Its also a lot cheaper than the SCAR or ACR and XCR.

Very true.... To be honest, if it was me I would go with something that was built as a dedicated piston upper or rifle. If money is no object, I would find a place where I can shoot an ACR, SCAR, SIG556, and see which of the three I liked better.

If money does come into play I know Addax Tactical makes a dedicated piston upper for like $1K, so for me it would be between something like that and the SIG556. I personally would prefer an entire rifle and would lean more towards the SIG.
