Letting my Son borrow an AR platform rifle

Searched, but nothing came up that could answer my question. My Son is 18 years old. He would like to borrow one of the AR rifles and go to Burro, the desert or Angeles. He is very aware of how to transport, secure, check and repair function of the weapon. I usually carry copies of DROS paprework with the stuff when I go out. Is it OK if HE takes it out without me there? I have no issues with sending him out with one of the bolts or others, just these.

Lending a long gun to someone 18+ is 30 days and I think indefinite for family members.

Edit to provide the CGF Wiki link I just Googl'ed on the matter:

Is the AR a RAW? If no, then is configured for CA compliance. If yes then it's no different than the other bolts you mentioned. Happy shooting

good to go, you could even legally sell him the rifle without paperwork, provided you are both within the same state.

If it is featureless and normally has the 10+ magazines I would just set him up with some 10rd magazines

So long as it's not a RAW then I dont think there are any legal issues with it.

It is illegal to lend legally owned large capacity magazines to anyone if you aren't present.

You could even give it to him and it would legally be considered his.

So under "long guns need no paper", it states there is no age limit. Does that mean a person under 18 can own the long gun?
