What are the ranges like near Palm Springs

My AK needs to get away from it all and just relax. Any suggestions near Palm Springs for rifles?
    Thanks!

There is a really nice range in 29 Palms. You have to be a member or a guest of a member.

Using gun control to stop crime is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline!
You don't have to get permission to exercise a RIGHT. If you have to get permission or can be told no by the government it is no longer a right. IT IS A PRIVILEGE!

Palm Springs Gun Club is about it but you also have to be a member or go with a member. There are some desert areas to shoot but the problem right now is that it is way hot out there. It's between 105 and 115 degrees in the summer.
