    AR-10 Follow-Up Shot Speed

I was messing around with my .308 AR-10 (Remington R-25) and noticed that my follow-up shots were very slow (5-10 seconds). The biggest issue seems to be that when the rifle deflects (muzzle rise) from each shot, the scope (3-9X) also deflects with the rifle. It takes a few seconds for rifle to stablize again and the scope to re-align so I can see the target and then re-aim for the next shot.

I know with small caliburs this isn't usually an issue. With a 22lr you never lose sight of the target (1-3 seconds), with my AR-15 you also never completely lose sight of the target, though it does bounce a little (2-4 seconds).

Any suggestions on how to quickly get back on target for a faster follow-up shot? - Thanks.

    more overall weight
    less powerful scope
    better muzzle break
    reduced recoil loads

-With a full 10-round magazine, its already kind of heavy.
-I'll look into a less powerful scope. Maybe something like a 1-4X would be suitable.
-I don't currently have a muzzle break, any recommendations? I'm guessing I'll also need to get the barrel threaded for one.
-I'm shooting factory loads and haven't started reloading yet.

Which model of PSW break are you using? With a break I could even reduce the recoil some.

try to make your body into a stone wall for faster shooting.

You can get on target faster than when your a limp noodle.

Also stance helps, you want an agressive forward leaning stance so that you can transfer the recoil to the ground quickly.

Step 1. Turn the magnification on your scope down x3 out to 300 and increase 1x per 100 yards.
Step 2. Change your muzzle decive to one of thesehttp://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...sting-_-570743 You will be able to do your own spotting, it kills recoil and muzzle flip that much.
Step 3. Buy some cheap plinking ammo and do a ton of practice.
Step 4. Spend the rest of the week trying to get the smile off your face.
But I being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softely, because you tread on my dreams.
