I don't know about scare them but it can sure piss some people off at the range if they are sitting right next to you.

Here are some Brownells videos comparing different Hiders. They do a test with no hider, an A2 and then some different commercial brands.

I ended up going with the VLTOR VC1.

It doesn't say if it is in stock or not, but AIM surplus has the BC 2.0 with free shipping here:

Also, enter "gundeals" as a coupon code and it drops the price down to $139. Not sure how long that code is valid for.

The Michulek brake from DPMS works as well as the more expensive ones I've tried.

I sold my Battlecomp and just put a Michulek brake on everything I own that will accept one. The difference in performance is negligable, and I save $120.

That being said, the Battlecomp looks a lot cooler.

This comp has by far been the best performing and is VERY reasonable. http://www.stagarms.com/product_info...roducts_id=334

edit: I have this on a 20" hbar ar-15 and it barely moves when I fire it. Works better than the dpms miculek I have on my 16", though that could be the difference in the soft cycling 20 and the harder cycling 16.

Battlecomp is my fav. I tried pws, tto, and yhm breaks and the battlecomp is the best of that bunch.

The only muzzle device not legal for most people are supressers.

I find that good technique does more for recoil reduction then some fancy brake. Not discounting that some do reduce recoil, but learning how hold your rifle will have even the slightest built person shooting well.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.
