    Another muzzle brake thread

So, my rifle (AR) is pretty light, and I'd like to get faster follow-up shots. The A2 hider does nothing for muzzle rise, so I'm looking to get a brake.

KAC Triple Tap seems to be the one with the best reviews, but I'm not spending $430 on a brake. Next on the list is the PWS FSC 556, but it seems to have mixed reviews.

What's a good brake for mixed indoor and outdoor shooting that addresses muzzle rise and will allow for faster follow-up shots?

    BattleComp at ~$165?

I haven't had the chance to test mine out yet but from what I've read and watched it's a good bang for the buck and doesn't have a horrendous concussive blast which should be good for shooting indoors and outdoors with others in close proximity.

PWS is a great break, a bit loud though, but most of em are.

FWIW I just shot my AK with a muzzle break for the first time yesterday and it seemed to work pretty good. I was able to be accurate with all 10 shots at a good speed. It seemed like it had alot less kick. It could be wishful thinking but I did shoot alot more accurate yesterday.

I have both the Battle Comp and PWS The BC is better do I would suggest that. Also here's a link to a place that has them in stock.

Good luck and post some pics when done.

My pws fsc556 is bad ***, you can rapid fire and the muzzle barley rises.

I also bought a rock river arms tactical brake for around 36$ I don't have an upper to install it on yet, but it's one of the best looking brakes, and only cost 35$ which is a bargain. I've seen nothing but good reviews stating it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Hopefully I can get a new upper soon to test it. (all my uppers are perm pinned 14.5)

Got a Rocky, too. Not bad either BUT no BC or PWS. It's a noticable difference.

Have never tried the "high end" brakes , but a LeVang comp workes for me , Midway has em' at about 30 bucks + shipping....
no side/up/down blast , sends the sound of the blast out front away from the shooter...
stright back recoil inpulse , just a nice little brake that won't cost big monies and looks kinda cool to.........

The A2 DOES do something about recoil.... not a whole lot but it DOES. Try firing your rifle without the A2... you might notice it jumps more.

Having said that... KAC, Battlecomp, Griffin, Spikes Dynacomp all essentially do the same thing... they brake, somewhat lower the flash signature, have less concussion than full on brakes... but certainly are not the best at either braking or flash hiding.

If you want an awesome flash hider, choose something else... if you want an awesome brake, choose something else... if you want a good compromise between the two, get one of the above listed brakes.
