Parts interchangeability between .308 and .223 DPMS

I just got a 308 JD set and I'm trying to buy parts. Could you please list which parts work on both weapons. Thank you

I think it's a lot easier to buy a complete DPMS LR-308 LPK than try to buy everything separately, it's only about $70.00.

The differences I could spot were the wider front takedown pin and maybe a different bolt hold open. That's what I remember off the top of my head. Springs might be different but that's hard to tell.

Here is what typically is different

You will need five special parts to complete the lower.
.308 Specific buffer and recoil spring (either rifle or carbine) (2 parts)
Front and rear take down pin (2 parts)
set screw for the bolt catch. (1 part)
The rest of the lower components are standard AR-15 parts.

Upper: Shares the same sling swivel stud and front iron sight. (Carry handle sight is different for rear sight.)

Pivot, takedown pins and the FCG are different in the parts kits. Buffer and spring are different. Not too much in common besides some small stuff in the parts kit.

For your upper you need an entirely different upper. So the components for the lower and a new complete upper, then the rest is the same.

The FCG is the same except for maybe the hammer spring.

I'm not sure which hammer type you need but I know the one in a DPMS parts kit will work.

I was going to say that too. I had a TON of parts left over from AR15 builds so I ordered the rest. I would have been better off to just buy a damned DPMS .308 parts kit, I had to pay for shipping twice because I forgot the damned bolt catch.
