My experience with a Plum Crazy lower is that initially, it was indeed a very tight fit and required a bit of pressure. It has relaxed some over time.

I think the area the OP is referencing is in the attached picture, and if that is the case, some material may have been removed in error.

    - I can't speak for the actuality of the situation, I am only an arm chair 'smith.

.. and yes, it's dirty after a bunch of .22LR

I wonder if this is a new issue with PC lowers. I bought and fit right to my uppers. A big +1 for PC, that was last year.

Haha I bet the smith charged him for 2 hours work took it back and press the upper to the lower and called it easy money..

Jk. just sad that you lost 150 for nothing..

Yeah, exactly the internals that I was referencing.. I was slamming the hell out of both lower and upper assemblies to get them to fit but with no luck. So my FFL offered to sand it down for $25/30mins.. I asked him if his previous customers had any issues with their lowers after the sanding and he said no. So maybe I was mislead? My fitment is terrible.

You should be pressing not slamming.

Just send it back. They have warranty.

You could've gone to T & A Armory in Santa Ana. They have the PC for about $200 OTD and they'll help you with any issues if it existed. I personally don't think that gunsmith knows enough about the PCs to offer you the advice he did.

Oh well. I e-mailed PCF to see if they can still help me. If I don't get a chance to exchange lowers via warranty, I'll just recycle the buffer assembly/stock, bullet button, A2 grip and build another one.

I'm still amazed that people buy palstic lowers called Plumcrazy............... I know thw OP will eventually end up with a better lower setup........it's just a matter of time.

.. and here your sig line references Glock, while my Colt 1911 is satin nickel

I'm quite happy with my PC, it serves it's purpose well and is mated to a polymer upper no less

i bought 4 pc lowers for somewhere around $400 even and have had ZERO issue. fit or function. great people to deal with and i was told (by a distributor, not PC) that they are looking into doing pistol lowers. think sub $550 ar pistols. that "buy once, cry once" theory makes sense. i expect to have no problems with my 1911s (nh, wison, gci, etc) or other high end stuff but if you can have an ar for under $600 here in ca you need to cut some slack if its not perfect. to capitalize and underline advising against buying a product that a ton of people have great experiences with based upon your one dealing may be a bit harsh. riflegear are good people but does your upper fit perfect on other lowers? any chance that its a mm or 2 out of spec?
Iam a good shot. At least i think i would be. Iam a good free throw shooter.

All the PC lowers have been very tight but fit good! I only had an issue with an old bushy upper but a little force worked out the tightness.
