How hard would it be to cut a pmag down to a 10 rd?

I have seen this around here somewhere, maybe midwestpx. Is this a do it your self kind of project or would I be risking destroying my mags?

I guess I can always go with a 10 rd dpms mag from 44mag. With the 10/20 pmag and the 308 being featureless the mag hits the table. Maybe the cut down mag would have reliability issues?

I believe it is MidwestPX, they call it a stubby I think? Seems pretty easy just cut and epoxy. May take a little trial and error with the spring length.

I don't know how many you are thinking of getting, but you could buy the LR20s and make them yourself for $20 plus a few bucks to convert.

I have converted a bunch and let me tell ya, if you're not doing 10 or so I don't know that its worth it.

It's 23 bucks not 32. Not sure about shipping however.

And I believe the base plate can't be removed which I don't like =(

why aren't there any mags for the AR that are single stack? they do this for pistols like the XD for california that keep the length and size but have a groove in the sides to make them single stack...

is there a feeding issue for this?
you don't rise to the occasion,

I'm looking for 10 rd .308. Are you saying the 308 dpms 10 rounders are crap? If so I will try a midwest one. Only problem is I don't want to buy more than 1 not knowing if they are going to be reliable at all. Only thing I feel comfortable with is midwestpx is a pretty cool vendor on here. Just kind of weighing my options here.

Cant say anything about 308s but all my 556 Pmags feed reliably and I blocked most of them myself. Just buy 20s and block them.

If your only going to buy a couple I would just buy the pre-blocked ones from MidwestPX and bite the bullet. The first time I blocked them myself there was some $ investment for parts and some T&E. If you want (20) mags then do it yourself, you'll save some money

I think its going to come down to followers more than anything and Magpul followers are GTG (for 556 anyways)

I've seen threads about it. I did some searching and I cant find anything about a .308 anyplace but I'll go look at mine. I would like to have at least one stubby I think they're cute LOL

Edit, I forgot to add the links that I found...

I know I saw a how to someplace but these are all I can find right now. Seems pretty easy though.
