AR Legality Question

Ordering an AR 15 from a company who is on the OLL but I want to have the rifle chambered in 7.62*39mm. Since the lower is the same name (Double Star Corporation Star 15) as the list, does this change the legality of the rifle? I have to ship it thru a middleman to have a bullet button installed so if i need to make any modifications that may need to be done at that time.

If I understand you correctly, the rifle you want is on the list as an AW... that is not an OLL. OLL of "off List Lower".

There is nothing you can do. The lower is listed, its an AW is any shape or form.

you can only get an AR15 that is NOT LISTED.

Some us us play around with the semi-automatic ans rifle requirements, but that is un challenged and un tested in court.

Luckily the roll mark on the side of an AR has nothing to do with how it works.

You can buy the same upper from Doublestar and slap it on a lower that is truly an off list lower, like a CMMG for example and everything should work fine.

If you buy them separately, there is no need for a middleman, you just have to install the bullet button before you attach the upper to the lower. If you can't buy the lower because you are under 21 years old, a parent or grandparent can buy it for you.

You should read the "assault weapon" flow chart and the code it references. Make sure you understand it, the way bullet buttons fit in and how to remain legal.
