AR 30 round mag with Bullet Button?????

I have seen tons of post were people built there own AR's with a bullet button and post pics of it with a 30 round magazine. I was my understanding that EVEN though you owned a 30 round magazine before the ban you still are only allowed to have a 10 round FIXED(Bullet Button) mag. I was yold the only way to use a 30 round mag was have a MM grip. I have not built an AR yet and if I do, I want to do it right. Are people just posting pics with 30 rounders because they look better than 10's. Are the people posting pics actually using 30 rounders at a public range??? I have a couple of 30 rounders that I bought at the Pomona(the good old days)gun show back around 1997. Is there any way I can use them???

They are posting pictures of 10/30 round magazines. THose are 30 round bodied magazines that are altered to only accept 10 rounds. If you want to use your pre-bans, you would need to remove all the "evil features" on your AR. Or if you had a keltec, you could use them in that

Only way you can use your pre-bans are with a feature-less build and a MMG.

Thoose 30rnd mags that you see, thoose are 10/30 mags.

I'm getting a 10/20 for mine, just because I like having a large "forward grip" to hold on to rather than the tiny 10 rd mag. Oh and there's the mall ninja factor too

I'm sure residents of other states laugh their asses off when they see them though.

I think your post was also due to a misreading of Savasyn's use of 30 rounders with a MMG which he included a Prince50 (without the set screw) in case he wanted to put a 10 round mag and an upper with a flash hider on that lower. I did the same. Makes quick switches easier between featured and featureless.

Those 30-round-look-alikes are really common and hold only 10 rounds. They look nice in pictures, but feel ridiculous in use. I bought one and have never used it since. 10/20's are perfect for me -- short enough for good prone, easy enough to get a good grip. YMMV

If you're using a bullet button you're already likely to have evil features on your weapon, so why not just put a real forward grip on it?

My ten rounders are 10/10 only, got no desire myself for any 10/30s.

I don't know about elenius, but when I refer to grip, I'm referring to installing/removing. I find it much easier to manipulate the 10/20's. Ranger plates on 10's help, too Besides, the Bushmaster made 10/20's are still the best mags I've ever seen or used.
