Took the AR out to 400 yards today...

So I decided to go beyond me normal 100 paper target shooting today... was impressed to find I was hitting a 12" gong out at 400 yards...

DPMS oracle upper
Bushnell AA holosight
Wolf surp .223 ammo

10 mph perpindicular wind

for the type of upper and oracle I have, it was shocking I was nailing it! I didn't have time to go up and check out exactly where I was hitting, but sure as heck, all 10 rounds... 2 seconds later *thunkkk*

Surprised the heck outta me. Nothing outta the ordinary here or good shooting?

LOL...with a bipod, a C-clamp, a sand bag, a LaRue stealth I couldnt even see a 12" target at 400 yards with a Holosight let along hit it 10/10...LOL

With a 10mph wind and a no magnification holo sight topped off with junky russian ammo...

This is what I'm thinking. I shoot at a 3" target at 100 yards using irons with a .034" wide front sight post and I have a hard time seeing that thing. 12" at 400 yards with a non-powered optic is still quite the challenge.

I would say thats good shooting combined with the fact that your rifle likes wolf... I can tell you that with a 16x scope I suck at shooting 200 yds alone. I could probably hit a 400 yd gong after 2-3 practice shots!
