Whoa whoa whoa now, my jd lower works PERFECTLY with my lr pmags! What are you talking about???

They must have changed their lower since we built this one below. fevillago even called JD and they knew about the issue. It will function but you need to hold the mag to get it to feed properly. Personally I think JD should replace the lower since (at least with that run of receivers) didn't work with the hugely popular Magpul mags and they knew about it and didn't inform the customers or retailers.

I only used the magpul mags for pics. I have metal mags for the range.
And yes they are very expensive to buy and shoot.

I say go for it!

Think about it, if at any point you decide it sucks, its not gonna be hard to "convert" it to a carbine or rifle, but if you start with a rifle you cant go the other way.

While you're all here, can I ask about your barrel/buffer/buffer spring combo?

If you know, who made your barrel,I did. Well, I cut, crowned, threaded, and profiled a DPMS bbl. what is the length of your barrel 10.5", what gas system does it useCar, what is the gas port sizeIt varies. you may need to go a little bigger than standard carbine, what buffer are you using and what buffer spring are you using?A2

Just got back from the Ventura Show I was able to get the upper rec. hand gaurd from JD , bolt no pistol barrel. You guys got to check out JD hand gaurd it"s a new design . Thank you for all the advise and picture that was posted by the members . Hoping to finish the project by next weekend . If anybody that has the pistol and want to join at Angeles Range I'll bring ammo. Keep the suggestion coming still waiting for the Geissele trigger .
