Troy VTAC TRX. Inexpensive, free-floated, rail on top where need it, smooth comfortable rail for your hand, extra rail panels you can install when you actually want to mount something other than on top.

Okay first off this pic is awsome and I kind of hate you for it. As for rail covers I have Troys but the Tangos look so cool. Yes I know it's mall ninja, no I don't care.

XTMs just snap right on. Most people have the trouble when it comes to removing them. If you do it just the magpul instructions say using two bullet tips it isn't too bad, though.

I like the rubber UTG myself although I could always just wear gloves if it came to it. I think I paid $20 for 3 rails.

I tried covering all sides with panels and it is comfortable, I just like the slimmer profile of the ladders. On my next build, I'll probably give the Troy, VTAC, Samson Evolution, etc. a try since I really don't need all the rail.

Think it does make a difference what you have on it and how you use it for sure though eh? As I myself have two different configs for my EBR. I have glass and a bi-pod and then I have swappable mounts on both to change out to a CQB red-dot BUIS set-up with a magpul AFG. One reason I like the UTG's is the fact they're small sections so you can work around your gear and still cover some rough areas.

Like everyone probably agrees this is just for comfort and during an actual SHTF scenario all the Mall Ninja Stuff will come off and the gloves will go on /shrug lol.

I have the MAGPUL XTM covers on the sides and a MAGPUL (I think) rail covers on the top. The black covers came with my rail I bought off another CGN member.

I love the feel of both of them but just a heads up the XTM covers are a b*tch to but on and take off. But once on they are on there solid.

Here is a better cover of the covers on top of my AR. Use to be my primary.
