    New 6.8 upper

Ok, I finally got this one put together. It has a 16" AR15 Performance barrel and bolt. YHM Rifle length diamond fore end. Parallax Tactical upper (made by JD Machine). And Cavalry Arms coyote brown furniture. Yeah, I'm not seeing much difference from FDE either. But that is what they called it. The scope is a Primary Arms illuminated 3x9 with one of their AR 15 mounts. I am planning on taking this one out with me for pigs in Texas next month. I need to cook up some loads this weekend and see what I can do with it.

Is it a SAAMI or Spec II chambered barrel?

          God thats a sexy picture.

AR Performance barrels have a special chamber that allows the hottest loads possible to be used. So think of the chamber as a Spec II with benefits haha.

What velocity are you getting with your main 110gr loads?

Spec II barrel. Or close to it. Evidently the guy at AR15 Performance is trying to get his specs to become the new standard for Spec II. I have no idea what the differences are, but it seems to have a good reputation online. Dunno. But I will post on its accuracy after I get it zeroed in.

Argh! Why is every one want to make their "own specs" for the SPC chamber? If you shoot Silver State Armory's hottest tactical loads in a SAAMI chamber, it will BLOW THE GUN UP. If you use "regular" 6.8 SPC ammo in a spc II chamber, you will lose some velocity. This inconsistency of chambers could be potentially very bad if you are not getting accurate info from the manufacturer...

I'll take your word for it. He said it was designed to fit the SSA loads. I am going to be handloading for it anyway, I so I am not all that stressed about it. Hopefully I don't run into any headspace issues with loads for this one and my other 6.8 Sec II. If I do, I'll just end up getting the chambers reamed to match. Unlikely to need it, but still something to keep in mind.
