I believe that would be illegal - constructive possession of an AW? Or maybe specifically classified as illegal in themselves? Either way, not legal.

this guy trying to sell me illegal parts

Unless you meet the legal requirements to own. Which I doubt if your asking the question.

They can be possessed in Ca. Just not legally by the average Joe. An illegally imported full automatic Bushmaster XM15 E2S

was used in the North Hollywood shootout. So just the bag guys get them.

        +1.
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

          3600 posts deep and still?

there is no constructive possession for AWs in Ca, thats why you can have a featureless rifle with a pistol grip sitting next to it and still be in the clear.
however there IS constructive possession for what the gayTF calls a "machine gun". So you couldnt have the parts, only criminals can have those in Ca anyway

Actually the only Illegal "part" is the sear (drop in auto sear, auto sear, lightning link). It serves no purpose other than fully auto fire and is in itself considered a Machine Gun. M16 FCG/parts such as M16 hammer, disconnector and selector are not illegal to posses. If someone instals these components in an AR15 and causes it to "burst" fire more than one bullet with one pull of the trigger you can and most likely will be prosecuted for Fed possession on an unregistered MG. This is a slippery slope which I would avoid!

Hey luckystrike, I'm on my iPad, otherwise I'd quote you, but yeah, 3,600 posts and I'm *still* trying to be helpful. See the question marks? That means your voice goes up at the end of the sentence - as in - you're not quit sure (or you're Australian, but a assure you, it is the former.) I wasn't exactly clear on the specific term, so I'm glad you came along and corrected it. The snide remarks, however, are not very helpful.

here in Ca being "nonspecific" can be the difference between freedom and a cold cell. do some more research.

There is absolutely no reason for you to have them anyways. Avoid avoid avoid. I for one wouldn't want FA parts in my possession or my rifle. If you don't FULLY understand the law and your rights, do not risk it. I wouldn't.

I kindly told the guy I wasn’t interested! I don't care to be in legal trouble so I make it a habit to avoid questionability when it comes to legality of my firearms besides the guy seemed like a total TOOL and junky. I would not trust the guy.

Wouldn't touch it with a 40ft pole... unless I was exempted of course.

Even if it is "cool" you can't tell anyone about it without getting in trouble...
