My opinion ,,,, I have tried the Eotech, The Aimpoint and the Trijicon I like the Eotech as it iseems to me to bethe fastest to aquire on target and the Tijicon for a magnified type scope Real bright optic glass and the + is no batteries. I own none of these. I would suggest going to BCM parts for your build they are the best. Get your choice of folding backup sights for now and shoot your rifle. They work well with peep sights and in a period of time I would bet you will be able to try a selection of "scopes" and pick out your favorite. I most likley would get a Trijicon for a long rifle and an Eotech for a carbine . But the peep sight works for now. It is all a matter of what you like.

Vortex???where is it made and how long does it take to get repaired? But then you can buy 5+ for the price of a Trijicon!!! life is tough eh?

I was totally set on an aimpoint H-1 for the longest time due to its reputation, but now I'm thinking about the Vortex SPARC thanks to you guys :P

The only downside I can see is that it's fairly newer, and the battery life does not compare at all to an aimpoint's....

Read the torture test and review on AR-15.com and it does fit on the LaRue mounts. In the review he says which one works to get the right heigth.

Here is a REAL torture test, performed by Impacto...He is on his second unit, after having issues with the first one...This is why I'm rolling with Aimpoint Micros...

Seriously.. how many of here are going to be even 10% as hard on an optic as that??

Going to war = Aimpoint T1

Going to war against paper and cans = Vortec Sparc..

              lol

You would be better off spending the $400 you save one some training or practice ammo.. just sayin'

thanks for the review links on the Vortex SPARC - so far from what I can tell it's a very good bang for buck choice!

I wish 3riversprecision had them in stock (the vendor mentioned in militaryarms channel review that 1911operator linked)... apparently they offer discount and free shipping with the code mentioned in youtube review.

Anyone know who else has them discounted? Everything I've found so far is $199 (which is a great price for what it is) - but less is better

Most of the people who save money on cheaper parts don't end up putting that money toward training and ammo.

wow, great links and advice guys! so now, its pretty much a coin toss.

on one side, the T1. more expensive and a 4MOA. def proven on the field over and over again. I like the high quality, very small profile, 50k hour battery life time and theres a big market on them.

on the other side, the SPARC. half the price and a 2MOA. newer company, but there are a bunch of good reviews out there including torture tests. slightly bigger profile and lot less of a battery life. from what i hear it can use the T1's mounts.

this is going to be a hard decision! maybe ill surprise everyone and get a aimpoint R1 instead. looks like its gonna meet me in the middle with the price...

the controls on the SPARC suck.

the dot on the H1/T1's is actually closer to 3.5 MOA.

you won't regret going with the t-1/h-1.

Third of the price.. but who's counting.. lol

Seriously.. if you can afford the T1 then it's the best out there.. if you can't the SPARC is a rockin' good deal.

                            I have one of each..

Really?? I don't think so.. the SPARC pretty much has EoTech controls.. it's like a T1 and EoTech mated.. lol

I like that when you turn it on it goes to the last brightness setting you used. The T1 controls seem more bomb proof.. they are just different but to say the SPARC controls suck is to say the controls on EoTechs suck 'cause they are the same.

the thing is I can afford the T1, like I said in my prior posts. Im just looking for the most bang for my buck right now. The price isnt really the issue, but the cheaper SPARC would be nice to save the extra $$$ for other goodies. I just dont want to sacrifice quality over quantity since I am building my AR to be high quality & durability.
