I just dont want to sacrifice quality over quantity since I am building my AR to be high quality & durability.
Then you really can't go wrong with the T1.

that being said, what's there to think about? no need to debate, just get an aimpoint already.

I purchased a Vortex Sparc that I put on my AR that has a standard fixed front sight. If you use the "permanent" mounts that come with the Sparc, you can achieve 1/3 cowitness. However, I wanted a quick disconnect mount and purchased the American Defense mount for the Aimpoint T-1 for 1/3 cowitness (nice mount, btw). The problem was that the dimensions of the Sparc are a little different than the Aimpoint, which placed the optic too high on the mount, blocking the front sight completely. While the Sparc seemed like a pretty good optic for the price, the inability for me to achieve 1/3 cowitness with a QD mount bugged me so I sold it. I'm putting on a H-1 next.

+1... this is how I view it too...

3RiversPrecision (mentioned in the Military Action Channel you tube vid earlier in this thread) now has them in stock = $179.99 shipped! *use code: MACSPARC (as mentioned in the vid) for discount.

As far as I can tell this is one of the better bang for buck optics right now... usually I spend more time researching, but 3rivers was out of stock yesterday, and I wanted to grab before they sold out again...

in the < $200 price point I can't imagine there is a better option (if so someone tell me so I can cancel my order )

If you read the AR15 review post this happened with the LaRue stuff as well.. using the next step lower QD mount gave absolute co-witness I believe.

The T1 is the best.. the SPARC is the best value for those not going to war.

IMO, get the Aimpoint PRO while you still can.

I tried the Vortex with both height mounts that they had available. The lower QD DOES give absolute co-witness, but I wanted lower 1/3 because I also had the Vortex magnifier. The Vortex magnifier won't fit over the top of my Matech BUIS at absolute witness height. Also, if you're running a magnifer, absolute cowitness puts too much of the front iron blur in the sight picture.

Don't get me wrong, the Vortex stuff I had was good stuff...it just has some small fit issues with certain configurations.

Depending if you have the std front sight then 1/3 co-witness would be best. I am going absolute since I have a flat rail and two folding Troys. Plus LaRue is releasing their absolute co-witness folding magnified option in April.
