After all the years of welding, I can barely make out a target at 100 yards but only if I look to the side of it.

Actually the gongs to the upper right are further out...I confirmed that. The large gong is about 300 and then there are 3 gongs further to the right of it...Those are 400 yrds.

That is my range as well

My AR can tag the smaller 400yrd gongs but that is a long shot and with max magnification. My AK and AR can tag the large gong round the clock. It is even louder with rain...FWwwwwwwwwppppp.

with a 16" upper iron sights, I usually just stay around 200-300, 100 for paper shooting.

2nd video is of my wife shooting same rifle and ammo at 600 yards. Listen for the hits on the steel.

            Take care,Stan
Stan - what were you saying? I got uh, distracted, by that second video. Good stuff.

I have shot up to 300 yards before with Iron sights. I bet most people have only shot under 100 yards though with their M4geries (not including those that have posted here).

Shot the wings off a mosquito with a 7.5in AR Pistol with iron sights one-handed (offhand) at 1,200 yards, though my buddy swears it wasn't the bullet but my sheer willpower that did it.

600 yards pretty consistently on a 3ft gong. I think I was able to do that off-hand as well, although not as often as when sitting (not at bench).

My AR is a Stag Arms build, 20" barrel. Really just a basic M-16A2 configuration.

iron sights, 55gr reloads with 25 gr H335, CCI small military primer, and Lake City Brass. Ie, just a plinking load without any working it up. I could hit that gong w/ my Garand as well.

That was back in CA all this past year. I have yet to hit a range here in NH. I am jonesing
