I ordered a Stag upper that comes with a A2 muzzle device. I am building a featureless rifle and ordered the upper from Lan World Inc. Stag will not sell to Ca. they tell people to go through Lan. Both Stag and Lan insist that their A2 birdcage is Ca. compliant. I am skeptical as I thought birdcages were flash hider perhaps hider muzzle brake combos. Anyone have knowledge of this. I'm not partial to brakes that annoy people to the left and right , but I for sure don't want any grief from the man.

Stag A2 birdcage, brake or muzzle device?

Most people in California go with a bullet button fixed mag rifle setup, which would be perfectly legal to have the A2 bird cage on. Review the "CA AW ID flowchart" under "AW & OLL Guides" at the top of this page for specific details. You should have the entire thing memorized before making any attempt at building an AR type rifle anyways. Its way too easy to commit a felony if you do not have that memorized.Last edited by stix213; 01-21-2011, 3:45 PM.Comment

the A2 flash hider that comes with stag uppers is only legal (in CA) with a maglock (or a registered AW)..
stag has a comp for pretty cheap (i got mine for $12 from opperationparts.com but i cant find them ATM) that is fully legal.. be warned its LOUD AS HELL and sends the blast sideways so people next to you are going to hate you.. tenpercentfirearms.com has it for $25.. it works great though.. there are 3 small holes on the top to help with muzzle rise (its minimal but its there).. i canted mine to the left a bit get almost zero muzzle movement while firing which makes for quick follow up shots
YHM makes a cheap (under $30) one that ive been looking at..Boy the way Glen Miller played, songs that made the hit parade, guys like us we had it made, those were the days, and you know where you were then, girls were girls and men were men, mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again, didn't need no welfare states everybody pulled his weight, gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days!

Just had the same problem, from what I'm told you can jut rip the a2 off and replace it with a legal option for your build.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
