So? Everything shooting related has gone up in price. No reason why you shouldn't take advantage of rebuilding your faulty magazines into ones that properly function. If you can afford the ammo to feed your rifle I'm sure you can drop fifteen dollars on a rebuild kit. Look at it this way, now you have a good excuse to buy new mags and they're high cap to boot. Very few of us have that option.

When M14 mags were $6.00 each in quantity, we'd get some bad ones in the batch, and toss 'em rather than fool with 'em - when 14 mags were over $50.00 each during the mag ban panic...

Same with 16 mags, if I only had back all the ones I tossed when G.I. surplus mags were $2.00 each.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Speaking of times changing. When I was ten years old I went down to a sporting goods store and bought a Remington 22 rifle. Didn't need my parents to sign. Walked out the door with it. By the time I was 15 I had bought two 22 rifles and three shotguns. All without my parents or anybody elses signature!! Now as an adult and having served six years in the Air Force during Vietnam I don't have the same rights I had then. And most of my buddies growing up purchased long guns with problems before they out of high school.
