Smartgunner DD middy upper or BCM middy upper

Hey everyone i've been lurking around the board for awhile and after doing my own research i've come down to these two choices for my first AR-15 upper

Build my own DD Middy upper from Smartgunner

Or go with a BCM middy upper

I understand that the DD upper doesn't include a charging handle or bolt carrier group, but the price they're selling the rest of the upper for seems like a steal.

I'm just looking for input on which one i should go with

If you're in hurry then get a BCM middy in BFH.

If you're not in a hurry and want to get the most out of your money then get the DD Middy from SmartGunner. DD barrels are all cold hammer forged.

If money wasn't a consideration I'd go BCM. DD is a great 2nd choice and the smartgunner deal is hard to beat. Either one is a great choice.

BCM doesn't include the charging handle or bolt carrier either... If you like the rails smartgunner offers and you have the time to wait I'd order the DD. It's a great deal if those are the rails you want. If you want it now then go BCM

The BCM has the option to add the carrier group, i should have mentioned that but anyways how long do the smartgunner uppers take to ship?

Smartgunner also has an option to add a DD BCG as well with a discounted price.

I hearing 3 weeks waiting time till you get at tracking number.

Just checked the website now and no option to add BCG or sights.

It's an email response from Tommy @ Smartgunner in specifically to the 16in middy Omega X 12in rail special.

It was an option when I bought my upper but it looks like it was removed. Maybe DD is deep into backorders? They also offered pinning of the muzzle device early on but became overwhelmed and removed that option as well.

Mine took 3 weeks for delivery, lately I gather it's from 3-6 weeks unless it's an item he has in stock. Patience can save quite a few bucks for equal quality.

Ya that might be the case. I figure ordering the DD upper and waiting 3-6 weeks is worth saving 150 bucks. Im not really in a rush.
