Are your transfers $75 plus DROS? Or are they $50 plus DROS for a total of $75?

Be sure to hang out with us other FFLs over in the FFL forum.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

$75 for transfer is steep and I personally would never pay that. But, welcome to calguns and to the ca 2a community!

Well $100 (Fee + DROS) isn't too bad, its just $25 more then everyone else in Ventura County [and are members here] normally pay. People who are not members here pay that at other FFLs. We here favor Uncle Paul's and Fort Courage Armory.

Now for guys who live in Camarillo an extra $25, is nothing. Factor the time it takes to drive to UP or FCA, the gas...easily worth paying $25 to do it all local.

        Welcome to the website.

By your location I see you are a kitchen table FFL. Sometimes its better to have a transfer done at an FFL's house, you don't have to worry about some employee letting all his friends "play" with your transfer.

^THIS. $40.00 more than the average FFL transfer fee is telling me that these guys are maybe trying to discourage anything but retail sales. Isn't there a law governing how much an FFL can charge? Or is that just for DROS (and they can charge whatever they want above & beyond that?) Anyway, good luck with your new endeavor.

He does say Transfers, not PPT's. Transfer fees(from out of state) are not regulated by the state, only DROS and PPT fees

Out of State transfers are $75 total (including $25 DROS fee). Private part transfers are $35 ($25 DROS, $10 transfer fee). Our main focus is retail firearms sales, and we also do transfers. We will beat any retail store pricing on firearms in CA.

Good to see another option in the area! The $75 transfer fee is +/- $10 of all the other HONEST FFLs around here. Sure, there are a few that charge a lot more but, I just pretend that they don't exist.

Cool. I think $50 plus DROS is fair. Ist that per gun? I do $50 flat fee as many long guns or per handgun. Repeat customers can get discounts if they ask.

Go into Big5 and ask them how much the fees will be to receive a firearm from another FFL and then transfer it to you? I'll bet you that they won't even do it.

You are talking about PPTs and the OP is talking about dealer transfers which can come from in or out of state private parties or dealers. Many people refer to these transfers as "out of state ttransfers" or "internet transfers".
